Built in 1816 as part of the Government Dockyard, Cadmans Cottage is one of only a handful of Sydney buildings that remain from the first 30 years of the colony. Originally built to accommodate the Government Coxswain - the officer responsible for government boats, their operations and crews. The cottage is named after the third and longest serving (and final) Government Coxswain and Superintendent of Boats, John Cadman. Over the years this sandstone cottage has been among other things, a sailors' home and a water police station (annex on the left of the house above housed the cells). Today it is also used as the Sydney Harbour National Park Informaton Centre (upstairs), while the downstairs area is open for inspection (FREE) daily. It used to be beside the water, but since the construction of Circular Quay the harbour has 'moved' 100 metres away.

Excavated drainage system inside Cadmans Cottage. The earliest drains are situated top left and on the 45deg angle, it dates from the early 1800's.

Or more popularly known as "The Mercantile"m is an Irish pub in The Rocks. Very quiet place to drink of a daytime, but at night - especially on weekends it GOES OFF!!!

Outside the QVB (Queen Victoria Building). When the QVB was renovated/restored a few years ago they realised the original statue had disappeared. This one was found on a 'dump' in Ireland and shipped out and restored too.

Sun Princess (Princess Cruises) is apparently based year round in Australia cruising from Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle. Next stop Noumea. The Sun Princess is the largest ship ever to sail under the Harbour Bridge - the mast clears the road deck by about 2.5 metres.
